God's Timeless Time

There is no "after" after death. Words like after and before belong to our mortal life, our life in time and space. Death frees us from the boundaries of chronology and brings us into God's "time," which is timeless. Speculations about the afterlife, therefore, are little more than just that: speculations. Beyond death there is no "first" and "later," no "here" and "there," no "past," "present," or "future." God is all in all. The end of time, the resurrection of the body, and the glorious coming again of Jesus are no longer separated by time for those who are no longer in time.

For us who still live in time, it is important not to act as if the new life in Christ is something we can comprehend or explain. God's heart and mind are greater than ours. All that is asked of us is trust.

Active Waiting

Waiting is essential to the spiritual life. But waiting as a disciple of Jesus is not an empty waiting. It is a waiting with a promise in our hearts that makes already present what we are waiting for. We wait during Advent for the birth of Jesus. We wait after Easter for the coming of the Spirit, and after the ascension of Jesus we wait for his coming again in glory. We are always waiting, but it is a waiting in the conviction that we have already seen God's footsteps.

Waiting for God is an active, alert - yes, joyful - waiting. As we wait we remember him for whom we are waiting, and as we remember him we create a community ready to welcome him when he comes.

I have just whatched this on tv and was well impresed with thw church for what they are doing. I am also well impressed witht their paster aswell for taking a stand and drawinf a line in the sand and asking all the chruch to back him or give upi and he would leave.

what I say is keep upi the good work and this is were God need the work done.

A new online space invites visitors to join a pilgrimage of discovery, freeing the mind from clutter, calming the spirit and strengthening awareness of and openness to God.
Based on an ancient design, http://www.lostinwonder.org.uk/is an online labyrinth that invites visitors on a spiritual journey of encounter and challenge. A labyrinth is an ancient spiritual resource and a metaphor for the spiritual journey into death and out again into life. Working with David Webster, the Methodist Church’s Website Manager, the Pastoral Care and Spirituality Team have developed it to be available to people across and beyond Methodism.
Lost in Wonder has ten interactive ‘stations’ that can be visited in any order, each with images, a Bible text, a prayer and a guiding voice leading the guest into the theme of that place. Some of the stations reflect on the priorities of the Methodist Church - worship, learning and caring, service and evangelism - while others consider different aspects and expressions of spirituality.
The Revd Michaela Youngson, Methodist Secretary for Pastoral Care and Spirituality said; “A labyrinth is an ancient way to journey deeper into God’s presence and then to travel out again into God’s world. This is a place of change and challenge as well as rest and contemplation. We hope that people will find in it a freedom that helps them to connect with others who want to learn about God’s love”.
One station, exploring the theme of God’s presence and action in the world, gives the visitor the opportunity to draw a picture of their own experience of God’s presence. This is then added to an online gallery so that people can enjoy and be inspired by the artwork of other guests. Those who wish to respond to what they have experienced within the Labyrinth will find suggestions, links and resources at the end of their journey.

Writing New Psalms

Just reading about Writing Psalms and Came across this Blog on wrings Psalms.
I really quite agree with what he has to say,
"It is fun.
People who read psalms tend to be encouraged.

Psalm-writing helps you exercise and build up your faith.

Psalms make great ammunition in spiritual warfare.

Sometimes my spirit burns within me in a zeal to praise God and/or proclaim His Word, and psalm writing is a constructive way to deal with that burning desire."
As someone who is new to writing New Psalms I have found it quite a discipline to do and in a way a new way of expressing my faith and feelings with God.

I am in Scotland and having a good time James and Mandy are happy even though that they didn't get much sleep liast nigh but hay we are away from the grind of life and just chilling.

Sore Foot

I have been of work today because I had a fall at work and badly sprained my left ankle. I felt such a fool when it happened it was 06:15 yesterday and I spend two hours in A & E waiting to be told that I have sprained it and should rest for 24 hours. The bruising has come out today and the pain has gone quite a bit but I still am having trubble walking for long.

the funny thing is that I am going in holiday tomorrow to Scotland. I hope that I will be better.

I brought a the times today at work as the have just got the canteen to order news papers which I think is a fantastic idea. I came to this aritical Church seeks spirituality of youth . . . and doesn't like what it finds - Britain - Times Online. As a youth leader in the church I can undestand the paninc that the church may be feeling. I am blessed that the youth that I work with are for the most "chruched" as in that for the most they have been in the chruch all their lives and have a undersatanding of Chruch. however my group is growing to some extent with the freinds that they bring in from school. This is intresting becaues I am having the same talks with the "non Churched youth" as is reported in the article proticaly this girl :-

We live in a post moden age with a diferent set of rules the church needs to get up to speed.

The Mass

Just got back from the The Mass today. I went with some friends to see what they get up to with a view of taking a group in two weeks to "get out of the church box" and see something new and fresh. The mass is very much that I would say. The worship was chilled and meditative, incense was used in copious amounts and candles were very much in attendance. We had words such as energy and power instead of spirit and physical prayers as well as said. Just the way that I like it! I am looking forward to going in two weeks.

It is interesting that I am preaching this week at Finking street. I was thinking about the text that I have chosen

And I saw this picture.

The story of Thomas and way he was feeling or thinking after seeing Jesus die and the news that he is alive. This must have been hard. The storm going on in his mind and then the calm that came as he saw and met with the risen Lord Jesus must have given him a peace and calm.

The Catholic Good Friday in the Roman Rite afternoon service involves a series of readings and meditations, as well as the (sung) reading of the Passion account from the Gospel of John which is often read dramatically, with the priest, one or more readers, and the congregation all taking part. Unlike Roman Catholic services on other days, the Good Friday service is not a Mass, and in fact, celebration of Catholic Mass on Good Friday is forbidden. Eucharist consecrated the night before (Holy Thursday) may be distributed. The cross is presented, with the people given an opportunity to venerate it. The services also include a long series of formal intercessions. I have just listend to this weeks talk from HTB the Joy Of Discipleship: "Graham Tomlin."

I must say that this is the best one that I have listened to so far. Graham Tomlin has hit Discipleship on the nail. He talks on Luke 6:17-23 but he also uses Job 1:20-21 as a reading/ quote as well

"Naked I came from my mother's womb,
and naked I shall depart.
The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away;
may the name of the Lord be praised."

The funny thing it that this was also todays daily reading that I read in my Bible notes.

He also Quotes CS Lewis. "For it is an awful truth that the state of ‘having to depend solely on God’ is what we all dread most... and we will not turn to him as long as he leaves us anything else to turn to."

The summing up was good to

Learning to be Poor:

· Learn to lend and to give

· Learn to sit light to your own dignity

· Learn to welcome failure

· Learn to welcome the struggling

· Consider the downward path

The path of joy – nothing to lose!

God has talked to me today I am sure of that, talk about getting hit between both eyes.

I have been using Google reader for some time as my reader I like it and find it easy to use and because there is no program for me to load on any computer I was happy! However things have been going funny with the whole thing so I have made a change and moved to using feedreader on my own computer. It is very good but as it is a program I can't move it. So I will still be using goggles reader when I am on the move.

I can really relate to this picture and his thoughts. I often feel out of my depth and more so this week as I have been give temporary promotion for the next two weeks and have to look after 4 departments and about 90 -100 staff. Today was my first day back from a few days holiday it just feels like I have had a head transplant. I only hope that I can keep it up for the next two weeks.

I have just watched this program on channel 4 tonight called Cold Turkey. It follows a group of heroin addicts as they attempt to kick their habit at a detox clinic. Across the week live programmes will chart the tough physical and psychological challenges faced by the patients on their first steps towards getting their lives back on track.
I am glad that they have shown this on TV and think that the world should know what it is like to come off a drug like heroin. I have helped some one come off this drug and it is bad. I am glad that I never was tempted to touch it. I also think that schools should show this to all kids over 12 so they can see what it can do.
I am told that kids can get it at school this seems to be the norm in most places now. All I got at school was a thick ear and a bit of weed offered which I don't do.

I have had a few days of his week and am at present staying at my mom's. We travelled over today and are staying the night. It is good to see mom and and to get her computer going. She hasn’t had the internet before and is like a new thing for her. The funny thing is that she is like a kid with a new toy. Every thing is new to her and the world is out there.
